The Need in Our Community
Each day in Hillsborough County, four children will be removed from their family homes due to child abuse and neglect, and one of those will be an infant.
With the financial strain, isolation and stress caused by COVID-19, children in Tampa Bay are more vulnerable than ever. These negative impacts – and the heightened risk they create – will reverberate long after the pandemic.
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month – and we need your help to provide the immediate and long-term support families need to prevent child abuse and neglect and provide a healthy environment for child development.
This year, in lieu of our annual Luncheon, we invite you to join Champions for Children by supporting our Child Abuse Prevention Month campaign. Throughout April 2021, this special campaign will raise critical funds and awareness for our mission, while providing you as a supporter with unique opportunities for recognition and participation. Follow along on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or our e-mail list.
On April 29th, we will cap off the month with a virtual celebration highlighting stories of transformational change and honoring Liz Kennedy with the 6th Annual Cornelia Corbett Child Advocate Award.
