From Sulphur Springs to Riverview to Westchase, we work together with families and institutions in our community to raise awareness, address needs, and ensure a safe, healthy, positive early childhood for every child.
Our Community Initiatives
Champions for Children is committed to identifying opportunities for partnership and innovation to improve the lives and futures of local children and families. Together with volunteers and community organizations, we find solutions and mobilize the community for action. Through our community initiatives, we make Hillsborough County a better place for our entire community to live, work, and play.
TALK READ SING
The TALK READ SING Community Campaign focuses on educating parents and Tampa Bay residents about the importance of developing a child’s brain by talking, reading and singing starting at birth.
Diaper Program
Our diaper program raises awareness about diaper need in Tampa Bay, while providing families in need with essential supplies that are donated by local partners and individuals.
Holiday Store
Our holiday store allows client families to “shop” for toys for their children at no cost, providing gifts and treasured family memories to more than 1,000 children each year.
Community Council
The Community Council is a group of individuals dedicated to serving as ambassadors of the agency and advocating on behalf of our mission.
Professional Development
Our training opportunities help you learn new knowledge and skills to strengthen the effectiveness of your (or your organization’s) work with families in our community.
