Champions for Children Endowment meets $50,000 challenge goal
When we made the decision to establish an endowment fund with the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay, Tampa philanthropist and longtime friend of the organization Cornelia Corbett came to us with a simple, ambitious challenge: if we could raise $50,000 before the end of 2016, she would match that amount.
Over the past several months, many of our most devoted financial supporters contributed to Cornelia’s challenge goal through a combination of direct gifts and pledges up to 5 years. Now that 2016 is over, we are pleased to announce that we not only met the goal: we exceeded it more than a week before the deadline!
The endowment will allow us to continue building stronger families that raise thriving children throughout the Tampa Bay area well into the future, which makes it the perfect way to ring in our 40th year. The Community Foundation will manage and invest the principal amount of the endowment, creating a steady stream of income for the organization while maintaining a firm financial bedrock for years to come.
