New CEO to Lead Champions for Children into the Future
Champions for Children is proud to officially announce the appointment of JL Bielon, CFRE, as our new Chief Executive Officer. She steps into this role with a passionate commitment to strengthening families and ensuring children have the resources and support they need to thrive.
“I’m honored to join Champions for Children and to help carry forward its nearly 50-year legacy of service,” said Bielon. “The commitment of this team to strengthening families and nurturing our community is deeply inspiring – values that have guided the organization since 1977. As we look to the future, I’m filled with hope and excitement for the decade ahead as we expand our impact and deepen our support for children and families across the Tampa Bay area.”
Bielon is a seasoned nonprofit executive with over 23 years of experience in strategic planning, revenue generation, and organizational advancement. She has held leadership roles at respected institutions including the University of South Florida, Tampa Theatre, Lions World Vision Institute, and most recently, ZooTampa. With deep roots in the Tampa Bay community, Bielon brings a proven track record of driving mission-focused growth and fostering meaningful community engagement.
Dr. Bonnie Saks, CFC board chair, is confident about the organization’s promising future under Bielon’s leadership. “Champions for Children has a rich history of strong leadership that has worked hard to provide families with the support they so desperately need.
