A Support Center for Parents Who Are Recovering

Providing support and education for parents in partnership with Ibis Healthcare. 

Every parent in every family deserves the chance to strengthen their connection with their children. While moms and dads work with our partners Ibis Healthcare to strengthen and rebuild themselves, the Family Learning Center works with them to strengthen and rebuild their families. Family Learning Center Services

If you are a parent who is recovering from a substance use disorder and actively participating in services at Ibis Healthcare, the Family Learning Center offers a wide range of classes, playgroups, support groups, and seminars to help you re-establish strong, healthy, and truly lasting relationships with your children.

Educational Playgroups

Our Rainbow Playgroups offer a unique visitation opportunity for children of inpatient moms and dads at Ibis Healthcare. Leading up to each visit, our staff will work with you to identify your goals for the visit and help you prepare to achieve those goals. Then, on the day of the visit, we are on hand providing gentle facilitation and encouragement to support positive interactions that strengthen the relationship between you and your child(ren). Following each Rainbow Playgroup is a Rainbow Reflection group, allowing mothers and fathers to process their visits together.

This service is available at both the Ibis Healthcare women’s and men’s facilities for parents with children aged 0-17.

Classes & Workshops

In our group-based class, participants develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes and that support nurturing parenting. During each session, parents learn skills and knowledge to build and maintain healthy, positive relationships with their children as well as their co-parent(s), while being supported by other parents who share their challenges and joys. Separate cohorts are offered for mothers and fathers.

This service is only available to current inpatients and outpatients at Ibis Healthcare with children aged 0-13.

Other Family Support Services

An ongoing weekly support group for pregnant women and expectant fathers or parents who have an infant up to crawling age. Knowledgeable facilitators are present to answer questions and connect to appropriate resources in the community.

No, all Family Learning Center services are completely free.

Most services require being a current patient at Ibis Healthcare. Once you are a patient, you can request to enroll in Family Learning Center services via your case manager.

Our offices are located at Ibis Healthcare, located at 4422 E. Columbus Ave., Tampa FL 33605. We provide services in both the women’s and men’s facilities, where our staff are embedded on-site.
