6 Ways to Celebrate the 4th of July

The 4th of July is a special day filled with endless summer activities to celebrate our country’s independence. Given that it is one of the few summertime holidays, the 4th of July is traditionally associated with fireworks shows, cookouts, beach outings, and spending time with loved ones. And we can’t forget those yummy red, white, and blue desserts!
After a year of isolation and virtual meet-ups, we are all excited about celebrating a holiday for the first time in a long time. If you’re struggling to figure out what to do, here are a few things happening around Tampa Bay that will be fun for everyone in the family! 1. Red, White, and Boom By the Bay
Why not celebrate with the biggest firework show in Tampa Bay! This year, the fireworks can be seen from 6 different locations: Armature Works, Tampa Convention Center, Sparkman Wharf, Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, and Bayshore Boulevard. The event will also include family friendly activities at each location.
When: July 4th at 7pm, fireworks start at 9:15pm

2. Riverwalk 4th of July Boat Parade
You can’t have a major event in Tampa without a boat parade! The parade can be seen at the following locations: Armature Works, Channel Drive, Convention Center, Curtis Hixon, Davis Island, Harbour Island, Sparkman Wharf, and the Water Works Park.
When: 4th of July from 5-7pm

3. Homemade Popcicles
The 4th of July is typically a very hot holiday. Cool off by creating homemade popsicles! Try making these yogurt swirl pops together as a family.
4. Create a Waterpark at Home
Grab some sprinklers, a kiddie pool, waterslide and a fun hose extension to create a waterpark in your own backyard. Your kids will be entertained for hours playing fun water games.
