You Are Your Child’s First Teacher

In-home support for your parenting journey and your child’s success.

As a parent, you are your child’s first – and most important – teacher. But we all know that our children do not come with a handbook! Parents as Teachers helps you embrace and navigate this critical parenting role so you can feel confident and competent in preparing your little one for success in Kindergarten and beyond.

Parents as Teachers Services

Parents as Teachers is an evidence-based home visiting program that promotes healthy development, school readiness, support for the parent-child relationship, and family well-being for children and families, prenatal through kindergarten. We support you and give you the skills to work, play and read directly with your children so they can reach their full potential, both developmentally and emotionally.

Family Support Services

When you enroll in Parents as Teachers, you will form a special one-on-one relationship with one of our warm and caring parent educators. Every month – or more frequently, depending on your specific goals and needs – your assigned Parent Educator will come to your home to spend a fun and informative hour with you and your family. Together, you will set goals, practice activities, discuss topics, and problem-solve issues specific to your child and/or parenting experience.
