All parents want the best beginning for their babies and children. Baby Bungalow is an early childhood resource center for parents and caregivers that helps with this important, demanding job. The center focuses on children’s needs from birth to age five.
New and experienced parents and caregivers benefit from a wide variety of playgroups, workshops and other activities. At Baby Bungalow, we provide direction and resources to help you successfully raise your children. All services are for ‘any baby, any family.’

Baby & Me: An ongoing, drop-in playgroup for parents/caregivers and babies, newborn to 12 months of age, to share and learn through play.
The experiences offered support babies’ social, emotional, physical and cognitive development through sensory materials, songs and positive interactions. Baby & Me meets on Mondays
(excluding holidays) at Bayshore Baptist Church, 3111 W. Morrison Ave., on the 2nd floor. Crawlers:
9:30 – 10:15 and Pre-Crawlers:
10:45 – 11:30 am. No registration required.

Growing Together: A 5-week playgroup for confidently walking children, 12-24 months of age.
This group is led by a facilitator and targets the developmental domains of cognitive (language, math and more), physical, social and emotional development. Using music, rhymes, stories, and other developmentally appropriate activities, caregivers will be supported while playing and learning with their children. Registration required.
Group A: 12-18 months, Group B: 18-24 months
Wonder Years: A 5-week playgroup for children 24 to 36 months of age.
This group is led by a facilitator and uses play, music, stories and more to foster toddlers’ growing independence, self-regulation and curiosity during the ‘teachable twos’. Registration required.
Creative Learning: A 5-week playgroup for children 36 to 60 months of age.
Led by a facilitator and designed to promote children’s critical thinking, problem solving and creativity through discovery and play. Registration required.
Little Amigos: A 5-week playgroup for children 24 to 48 months of age.
This facilitator-led playgroup exposes our Little Amigos to Spanish through music, singing, rhymes and activities using conversational phrases. Registration required.
Music & More: A 5-week playgroup that nurtures the development of confidently walking 12 month olds to 5 years of age, through music and other activities.
Music boosts language and literacy development, numeracy, math, self-expression and motor skills. A facilitator provides experiences including songs, rhymes, storytelling and more. Registration required.
Group A: confident walkers 12 – 24 months, Group B: 24 – 48 months, Group C: confident walkers 12 – 60 months
My 1st Year Infant and Caregiver Support: This group is led by a child development specialist for new parents/caregivers and their babies up to 12 months of age.
Caregivers will be provided developmental and emotional support as they navigate their baby’s first year of life. Drop-in on Thursdays from 1:30 – 2:30 pm. Weekly discussions include: understanding baby’s cues, mindful interactions and play, creating safe environments, developmental milestones, emerging language and more. No registration required.
Fun Friday: Baby Bungalow is the place to be on Fridays from 10:30 am to 12 pm.
Infants and children under the age of 4
and their parents/caregivers are invited to enjoy the infant playroom, toddler playroom and outdoor play space. It’s a great opportunity for socialization and shared experiences in a relaxed environment. No registration required.
AGE: Infants – 48 months
Infant Massage: a 2-session workshop, for babies who are not yet crawling.
This workshop is led by a certified infant massage educator who instructs parents/caregivers on the techniques and benefits of infant massage. Registration required.
Sign Language Workshop: This 3 session interactive workshop teaches parents/caregivers the basics of signing with their children.
Signing gives children a foundation for communication while developing their expressive language skills. The first 2 sessions are for the parent/caregivers only, session 3 includes the children too. Children up to 48 months of age participate with the caregiver during the 3rd session to learn and practice with support. Registration required.
Using the Brookes Publishing Ages and Stages Questionnaires, children as young as 1 month of age to 66 months of age are eligible for a complimentary developmental checkup. We encourage families that attend our Baby Bungalow playgroups to complete the Ages & Stages Questionnaire either through our confidential and easy online method or in person with our Developmental Screening Specialist. Parents/Guardians will receive an overview of their child(ren)’s development, activity sheets that promote continued growth, and if needed, a link to community resources.
Glazer Children’s Museum
With the help of our partners at Glazer Children’s Museum and the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County, Baby Bungalow wants to ensure your little ones are strong and thriving with every step. Developmental Checkups scheduled at the Glazer Children’s Museum are intended for children 36 months and younger. Meet with Champions for Children professionals one-on-one as they review and discuss your child’s development. All checkups are included with general admission or Museum membership, take an average of 30 minutes, and require online registration to reserve a timeslot.
Who can come to Baby Bungalow?
Baby Bungalow is for ANY parent or caregiver of ANY child age 0-5 seeking information related to the development of children and strengthening of families. The facility’s unique open-door approach means no referrals are necessary to access the many resources of Baby Bungalow. New and experienced parents can benefit from a wide variety of child-related programs, classes, and enrichment activities.
Is daycare available at Baby Bungalow?
No. Baby Bungalow strives to promote the strong bonding of families through activities including both parent/caregiver and child. It is not a drop-off care facility.
What are the costs for Baby Bungalow activities?
If you are registering for one of our five-week developmental playgroups
at our South Tampa, 3106 West Azeele Street location, class fees are $25.* for the full five week session.
The 3-session Infant Massage workshop is $15.*
The 3-session Sign Language workshop is $15.*

Baby & Me, My 1st Year, and Fun Friday are all offered FREE of charge with no registration required.
There is no cost to participants for services offered at our partner the Children’s Board Family Resource Centers.

Can I bring a sibling or other child to a playgroup?
Playgroups/workshops are for the registered child only. Siblings young enough to be in an infant carrier, and who are not yet mobile are the only siblings allowed in a playgroup with a registered child.
