Volunteer With Us
Share Your Heart: Become a Volunteer
Make a Difference in your community by volunteering. Share your skills and talents and help countless families in Hillsborough County get the services and help they need. There are a variety of different volunteer opportunities available for adults and teens. We welcome our volunteers to come on an individual or group basis, depending on the size of the volunteer project. To learn more about our current and ongoing volunteer opportunities, please read the brief descriptions provided below.
The Baby Bungalow Program offers developmental playgroups, workshops including Infant Massage and Sign Language, and other opportunities for children 0-5 and their caregivers. Volunteers support special events such as a ‘Messy Day of Play,’ ‘Spring Fling,’ ‘Fall Festival,’ and ‘Pop-Up playgroups.’ Additional help is sometimes needed in maintaining and organizing materials and filing of clerical items.
Holiday Store Toy Drive & Event
Champions for Children’s Holiday Store is a 3-day event that gives families served by our programs the opportunity to “shop” for gifts for their children at no cost. It also gives community volunteers an awesome way to engage with our clients and staff for a great, fun-filled, meaningful event! Organizations can host a toy drive to collect new and unwrapped toys for children ages 0-12 years of age. Prior to the event, volunteers help sort donated toys into appropriate age groups, making the “shopping” experience easier for parents and caregivers. During the Holiday Store, volunteers can either assist parents/caregivers by helping them find great toys for their children, or they can work in the gift wrapping room, giving each present the final Holiday touch!
